Sicily Garden Tour

We'll start in the 3000 year old capital, Palermo. This city blends Roman, Norman, Arab and other European influences into the architecture, traditions, foods and gardens. We'll visit the botanical garden (one of the oldest in Europe), explore the salt flats of Trapani on the West Coast, have a cooking class, discover traditional Sicilian wines and have plenty of free time to explore Palermo's rich historic sites, churches and romantic markets. 

We will then head East and stop along the way for a wildflower and botanical plant hike and picnic in the Madonie Mountains. We'll be there during wildflower season when the hills come alive with color. We'll end up in the Taormina/Catania area on the East Coast for 4 days where we'll visit garden club gardens, public gardens, drive up Mt. Etna and visit an alpine garden and explore a winery on the slopes of this volcano.
